Update, some trailer stuff, upcoming stuff, and a technological obituary
Hey everyone! Sorry it's been awhile since I posted anything here. I was hoping to do some horror stuff this month but real life and my day job got in the way. I do have the next four days off and I'm hoping to squeeze in some stuff by the 31st but no promises. Anyway, what have I been up to?
First off, my second book Time In My Hands: Volume 2 is now available! If you read the first one and the cliffhanger left you wanting more, well wait no more! Also this one also ends in a cliffhanger of sorts...OR DOES IT?!?!?! You'll have to read to find out. It's also available on the Kindle if that's how you read stuff. So you have no excuse.
Secondly, there's a lot of crazy stuff happening in my personal life that I really can't talk about cause it involves family members and I have the type of family that'll call me and give me shit for talking about said problems on a blog post. I didn't have to include this paragraph here and you all would've been none the wiser but I wanted to make a vague statement about it.
The few times I thought about making posts was to post some Trailer Tuesdays but I kept forgetting. So here's some trailers I been watching along with some comments.
First up, I have a friend named Dylan who started a gig where he shows some kind of cult movie in a bar and/or coffee house and it's free to attend. Anyway, he's been obsessing over this movie called The Greasy Strangler and I never heard of it until he mentioned it so I went and checked out the trailer.
The first thing I wondered was if this was a Tim and Eric thing. You remember Tim and Eric? They had a show on Adult Swim and they made a movie that was basically 2 hours of weirdness? Well, this movie feels like a Tim and Eric thing. Then I saw the credits and didn't see Tim or Eric's names in it but the names used sound stupid and made up so then I wondered if this was a Tim and Eric thing where they played characters playing in a movie. After some Googling, I couldn't find a way to prove it except a bunch of stuff that says "if you love Tim and Eric, you'll love this". So my conspiracy theory still stands.
Also I'll have to watch this sometime. (Here's a red band trailer with some male nudity and gore if you're into that kind of thing.)
Next up is the remake for Pet Sematary (I know spell check it's cemetery but Stephen King named it Sematary, I have no control over that.) which I was curious about cause to be totally honest, I don't remember the original movie that well. I did read the novel when I was a teenager but that's it. So let's take a look.
You know what bugs me? When kids talk weird. Like I've interacted with kids before. My friends have kids and I been around them. They say things like "YAUAUAUAUAUAAHHHAHA baby shark!! WOO!!!!" and ask about banana pudding. The kid in THIS movie goes "...wow! This whole place is ours?" Whatever, kid. Go play with whatever toy you're into. Besides that, this movie looks cool. I'll check it out when it comes out. I'll have to revisit the original sometime soon.
There was one thing I wanted to post and it involved watching the three V/H/S films but funnily enough, I only own those on blu-ray and a few months ago my blu-ray player stopped working. It was able to play DVD's just fine but it wouldn't read any blu-rays. Of course, this happened right around the time I lost my job in August so I couldn't replace it right way. I actually know how long I had this player, I made a post about it on my old blog (well, three blogs ago...) so I think 6 years is a good decent amount of time to own a blu-ray player. Thankfully, earlier this week, I was able to get a new one and now I'm back! I can watch ALL my movies again! So hopefully I can do that V/H/S thing before the 31st.
Alright, that's all I got for you for now. Thanks for reading and I'll hopefully have some stuff for you next week.
